Blake Austin added to England squad for World Cup NinesCat:未分類

The Australia-born stand-off Blake Austin of warrington has been called into the England squad to the Downer World Cup Nines.

Austin replaces his sailors team-mate Jack Hughes, that has been ruled out of this Nines championship but hopes to be fit to join with Austin before the four-match Great Britain and Ireland Lions tour of New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Has left a huge impact in his first time at the Betfred Super League and has been shortlisted for the Man of Steel award acquired by Salfords Jackson Hastings. England Women also have lost a member of the 16-strong squad to its Girlss Nines contest that will run along with the mens in the Bankwest Stadium weekend. Leeds ahead Shannon Lacey was ruled out after suffering a head injury during Sundays success at St Helens at the Womens Super League semi final. Lacey is also ruled by the accident out of Friday nights Grand Final against Castleford at St Helens, even though she remains optimistic of regaining time to connect Englands two-Test tour of Papua New Guinea. Both the mens and womens squads will fly to Sydney on Saturday and perform their first games following Friday (October 18) until the majority of their opponents are played on Saturday October 19 – with all matches shown live on Sky Sports.
